Privacy Policy

Discretion matters here. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it is protected.

Who we are

Maxwell Manor is a private members club and photography studio on the outskirts of Chorley, Lancashire. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at maxwell_manor@hotmail.com.

What we collect

Membership applications: your name, email address, phone number, membership type, gender, how you heard about us, the information you tell us about yourself, your confirmation that you are over 18 and accept the house rules, and the identity documents you upload so we can vet your application.

Studio hire enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, the type of hire, preferred date, duration and any details you provide.

Members Vault: if you are a member, the access code you enter to unlock the Vault.

Site usage: anonymous, aggregated visit information gathered by Vercel Analytics, such as pages viewed and general device and location data. It does not identify you personally.

How we use it

We use your information to review and vet applications, confirm you are over 18, respond to studio hire enquiries, manage your membership and Vault access, and keep our events and premises safe.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Applications and enquiries are delivered to us by email through our email provider, Resend. Our website is hosted by Vercel, and membership records are held with our database provider. These providers only process information on our behalf.

We will otherwise only disclose your information if the law requires it.

Cookies

When you unlock the Members Vault we set a single cookie that keeps you signed in to it. It is strictly necessary for that feature and is not used for tracking.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including for as long as you remain a member. Identity documents are used for vetting and are not shared or published.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and request a copy of it. Email us at maxwell_manor@hotmail.com and we will respond promptly.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
